Do not vote for Brenda Diaz. Here's why.

Same.

And if she advances to the general election, I will vote for her again for the same reason.

Then you are an idiot.

Separation of Church and State- do you not believe in the US Constitution?
You want a liar on the BOE
You want ignorance on the BOE.
You want a woman who is endorsed by hate groups on the BOE? What is wrong with you?
She literally did not show up to work; your tax dollars paid for her to not show up. What a waste of taxpayer money.

She is a far-right nutjob propagandist; her X page looks like an antivax machine. For god's sake, who votes for an RFK Jr and a Tulsi G. supporter and a person who wants a revolution with guns? Yes, guns she put that on her X page........

I’m sorry you voted for a person that did not show up for work and wasted your tax dollars. Bless your stupid ignorant heart.

I mean, it's not like the other two are winning candidates without their own willful ignorance. Less publicly objectionable? Sure, to me anyway, but the makeup of the whole board is the thing, and whether it's MCEA's Apple Ballot endorsement or the B&BC endorsement, the other two promise too much of the same crummy rubber stamping we've had for years and years.

We've had lots of liars and idiots on BOE. And also as MCPS superintendent.

Diaz is basically moms for liberty

It is unsettling to see the quality of some of our superintendents. I was not a fan of McKnight, and I think Taylor is a problem too.

That said, Diaz' persistence in running for the BOE could land her there for four years, especially since she has toned down her rhetoric.

Oh goodie voting for The Heritage Foundation and Momsforliberty bless your heart wanting ignorance to be forefront for kids. A person who didn't show up for work and you voted for them that takes some kind of special. Total waste of taxdollars paying the salary of a teacher that doesn't show up for their students

No you pos

Diaz our resident Morin is too dumb to be near kids. She supports the Heritage Foundation curriculum who the hell supports that racist shit ?? Not yo mention the ignorance it takes to try and defend that crap.

Different poster. Why does she scare you so much if she'd be only one of 8 votes? How much harm can she actually do? I don't like her but I don't understand the hysteria.

Diaz is the only candidate talking about things like algebra (a real issue for me and my kids) and not lefty buzz words. I agree with the excerpt you quoted, so that’s helpful for me!

She’s mom’s 4 liberty. No way is she getting my vote!

Is she? Or did she, as a candidate 2 years back, just go to a forum they sponsored? Certainly not as mainstream a move as participating in a milquetoast poll, and possibly inadvisable, but people do go to such things without subscribing to the organizing group's specific philosophy.

There are plenty of sources with candidate info. The Banner had this:

Easy to search for others for this race. "Lazo Diaz Chase Board of Education" comes up with several.

She absolutely subscribes to the Moms for Liberty philosophy. These are Brenda Diaz's own words from her blog:
Currently, leftist ideologies are deeply embedded within our school system, limiting freedom of thought and expression. BLM and LGBTQ+ flags adorn classrooms and hallways. Critical race theory is at the center of Social Studies education, from elementary to high school. These ideas are presented as the only course of righteous action for the rising political activists our schools aim to create. We risk entrenching our children in unnecessary future turmoil when we frame the trends of our time as the only just causes. When “all the things” that are good can only come from the Left, what happens to anyone who believes differently? Where do those children and their families fit in our schools and our communities?

She's in second place so far. I truly did not think she'd get many votes.
