BSC and Achilles both deeply believe their environments are superior to the MLS academies. Achilles will promote if you jump to Europe.

Not sure about how the others handle it. It will be interesting to see if the tide has turned because SYC does not have a good track record of pro production but they are lapping the field in academy production right now.

I'd think most of this is about the player anyway. At the end of the day, there truly a material difference between SYC, BSC and Achilles? Do we honestly think if DC goes to MLS Next club X they have a better shot than MLS Next club Y? I haven't seen anything to suggest these environments are all that different when it's all said and done. But maybe I'm wrong.

Achilles has 3 players in European academies ATM.

Revolution and Loudoun charging about $5K yearly and the only thing promoted is the “coaches” salaries.

Make it make sense.

Isn't that swingers country?

Did European Category 1 academies send scouts to Achilles games, select players, sign transfer deals with Achilles?

I'm trying to understand what it means that a grassroots club in Maryland has players in a European academy
Kids with European passports leave here through family decisions from EDP, ECNL etc clubs and relocate to Europe all the time

Yeah, no. Not a “relocation” because dad has a new gig in Europe.

I would love to see a copy of one of these transfer contracts between Achilles and a European top tier academy for a player
