That’s multiple AP teachers across years! |
| Surely they could schedule exams to minimize this issue? |
| Last year my kid had 3 in 1.5 days. The results spoke for themselves when her scores came out. |
| Just found out my kid also has a chorus concert tomorrow night, on top of 3 AP exams and tons of other HW this week. Why????? |
|
My issue is that as districts in much of the country keep starting school earlier and earlier, those of us in districts that adhere to the tried and true schedule of school not starting until after labor day are penalized by how early AP exams are. We have much less class time to prepare so it is a real scramble.
I say move them back a few weeks, perhaps starting right after Memorial Day. |
| So glad my kid is in a private school without APs. |
| AP exams are in early may because much of the country is out of school by memorial day. AP dates are fixed - this is one reason to advocate for virtual days during snow. The school should be mindful of AP test days. But this is a really busy time of year - championship games, concerts, proms. all this is to say - it's tough, life isn't fair and you just need to get over it and do your best. |
So move the AP tests back and maybe these school districts will adjust their schedules accordingly. |
Agreed - move them back a week or two. Graduations in early-mid June. I hate having my kids in school in early-mid August. |
Districts are not going to change their entire K-12 calendar for AP scheduling. |
| schools across the entire US are not moving their schedules. much of the south and midwest start earlier and end earlier than we do. tell your AP student this is part of the deal. |
Wanna bet? |
You know, a lot of kids in the US finish school before Memorial Day, right? |
Yes. And I'm saying that should change. Make it so. |
I agree. School can't start before August 15. And can't end before June 1. |
