What about food? That can really add up in NYC.

So what do your kids do during the week off?

Why do you need to travel? You can't spend time with them at home?

Which reward plan and hotel?

Hampton Inn using HHonors points i always struggle to find value with. It was really great! Tiny beach area, but can walk for miles. Lovely pool with an Excellent restaurant. Shuttle to drive you places. Only rented a car one day. Not bougie, but perfect for us.

No trip for us this spring break. Kid that is still at home, hung out with friend, hung out with cousin, we went to DC one day, saw family on Easter. Plenty to do.

I’m a new poster, but thanks for that recommendation — sounds perfect for our family, adding it to our list of future spring break options!

We went to museums on the Mall and went out to lunch and dinner as a special treat. Then we went to a paint your pottery place the next day.

With the economy the way it is, we couldn't justify spending on any travel.

We did Rome and Florence with 2 young kids for 9 full days for a little under 10k.

7 days in London, 2 adults 1 teen. $3000 on hotel. $2000 flights plus cabs to airport, baggage fees. I honestly dont know how much we spent on food and activities while there, I would estimate $1000. We did a lot of walking and free museums but did spend on some nicer meals a few times.

So I would guess $6000. I could be off.
