OP, any particular reason you married this guy? Sounds like it's time to get out, particularly if these girls or boy are yours.

I married him because he’s a kind, handsome man, and he’s very well off.

Tell the daughters that’s who girls earn their keep lol

Your boys are 11 and 16. Why are you posting now? It should have been 8 years ago. Good luck.

The girls are responsible for cleaning the kitchen, living areas, every night, and taking turns with the bathrooms and laundry. My husband insists that chores aren't something boys should do, and that his boys aren’t good at doing chores. My stepdaughters have been complaining about doing chores and think that it’s unfair, and they’ve shared their frustration with me. How would you handle this?

Your stepdaughters are right. But surely you knew this about this man before you married him?

No, they were young. My stepdaughters complain about this everyday, there’s crying from them, and he yells at them to do chores. I think he’s expecting too much from them.

Do you have a son or a daughter with him?

And even if they were young, it's not hard to see men's feelings on this stuff. Let me guess, he's older, you don't work now?

Yep, if you marry mostly for money and looks, you need to do the chores. They are just paying for moms choices.

Does your husband do chores in the house?

No, he doesn’t.

Do you? Who are the role models in the home that the kids see?

Yes, we also have a child together.

Boy or Girl?

NP My dh is conservative. He does chores nonstop and makes our boy and girls do equal chores. DH absolutely believes that both sexes can do equal amounts of chores and can do the same chores. DH is our main cook.

My extended family are old school conservatives (SAHM). The men and boys did nonstop, hard chores on a farm. The girls inside also did nonstop chores, just inside.

Most of the conservatives I know put women on a pedestal, respect them, and don't believe women are indentured servants.

Sure. Ok.

The problem is being conservative is necessary, but not sufficient, for being a great husband.

WTF does this even mean?

This is your brain on Fox News. Any questions?
