Why Are Landscapers Declining Sod Install in April?

We just had about 5000 sq ft of sod put down last Friday in our front yard. After they put it down they watered it from a hydrant. It rain over the weekend. They came by Tuesday and today Thursday this week and watered it again from the hydrant. Watering from a hydrant was included in the price. They said they will do that next week twice. Then we have to water it two or three times a week for two more weeks. They said water it on the days its above 80 degrees. The days its below 80 you don't have to water it. After today it needs to be cut. Its growing fast while the temperatures are cooler. .

We had some sod put in 2 weeks ago. It's been between 30 and 90 since then so weather is unpredictable. Fall is probably better but spring is fine. We put in sod at another house in July and with a sprinkler system it's done very well.
