OMG they need to implement this at airports.

OMG they already do

With govt shutdown the times are not updated regularly which is why people ask others.

The govt shutdown has nothing to do with the actual airport websites.

They get their data from TSA, which isn't producing it because of the shutdown.

So are the numbers online historical? Made up?

Probably generally historical. It's possible some airports track this themselves, not totally sure.

I have been in 6 airports this week (it’s been a long week). All were empty. I have not seen anything different in the TSA precheck line.

Nope. Lots of airports provide realtime wait times. Not all, but a lot do.

I'm traveling this weekend via Dulles. If anyone is there today or tomorrow, please check in and let us know what to expect!

Depends on the time of the flight

I went to Dulles at 9pm and it wasn’t a lot of people, the line was moving and took about 15 min.

Coming back for intl. travel CBP line was another topic. Complete your form in advance, and pray they don’t close to one line.

I was lucky that I completed my form & got in the line before they closed down from three to one line. I don’t know how long people waited because I had gotten my bags and left but that I promise you I didn’t want to be on that line that was only down to one person.

Just a few:

I wish every airport did this.

Flew into IAD from CDG on Friday night around 8:30. No wait at Global Entry, but it was not a peak time.

No line at all this morning at 8 AM

The only airport I’ve heard anecdotally with issues is Newark.

Really? I have seen this maybe once domestically.

Returning from Intl, Global Entry helps a lot.

Even using the free "Mobile Passport" app will be better than the main line.

While there certainly are issues, the media is making it seem like every airport is a disaster. Just returned from a conference with people flying in from many places. Some had longer than usual wauts but not outside the of the range most people allow for with extra time before a flight.

You need to venture out more.
