RIP: US servicemen and women killed in Iran war

This kind of thing repulses me. Don't use the dead to make political points. It's possible any of them died truly believing in this administration, or hating it. Or possibly would've changed their minds if they knew they were going to die. Or anything. They certainly don't deserve to have EPSTEIN graffiti scrawled next to their memories.

I disagree. My child is in ROTC so while he's not currently deployable, this hits home.
If he died I would have no issue with his image being used on posters like these.

+1 How are wars not "political"? They all are. But some political causes are worth our kids dying for (defending our country against threats), and some are not. I have no idea for what cause these young soldiers are dying in Iran and why it's necessary for the USA to be there. If it's a "wag the dog" scenario of Trump distracting from his troubles at home, Trump deserves every angry Gold Star parent to rain down their fury upon him.

Can we keep the focus on the servicemen and women killed in action rather than on petty squabbles? There are other threads where you can discuss your feelings about the war.

U.S. Military Names 6 Service Members Killed in Crash of Refueling Tanker in Iraq
The crew members had been part of the U.S. and Israel’s war on Iran, bringing the death toll of American service members in the conflict to at least 13.
The Pentagon on Saturday identified the six United States service members who died this week when a refueling aircraft crashed in Iraq.

The service members were Maj. John A. Klinner, 33, of Auburn, Ala.; Capt. Ariana G. Savino, 31, of Covington, Wash.; Tech. Sgt. Ashley B. Pruitt, 34, of Bardstown, Ky.; Capt. Seth R. Koval, 38, of Mooresville, Ind.; Capt. Curtis J. Angst, 30, of Wilmington, Ohio; and Tech. Sgt. Tyler H. Simmons, 28, of Columbus, Ohio.

U.S. Central Command had stated that the aircraft crashed after an incident involving another plane, which landed safely. The crash, which happened Thursday in western Iraq, was not a result of hostile or friendly fire, the Central Command said.

Three of the service members — Major Klinner, Captain Savino and Sergeant Pruitt — were assigned to the Sixth Air Refueling Wing at the MacDill Air Force Base.

Major Klinner was a husband and father to 7 month-old-twins, a boy and a girl, and a 2-year-old son, according to Mr. Klinner’s brother-in-law, James Harrill. Mr. Harrill said Mr. Klinner had been deployed to the Middle East for less than a week before his death and was nearing the end of his military career.

Gah. Three kids under the age of 2 and about to end his military career when he was killed. These stories are heartwrenching.

Disgusting! He can't be bothered to take off his baseball cap to honor the dead soldiers and he using the picture in a fundraising email? If Biden or Obama had done this, Republicans would have lynched them (not that Biden or Obama would have ever used the dignified transfer dead soldiers in a fundraising email because they value our military more than that.)

Can people stop posting tweets from the warmongering mouth breathers? Don't humanize these vile propagandists. They're actually glad these Americans are dying.

There are plenty of responsible outlets you can post from.

The people responsible for disrespecting their memory is your commander in cheif and anyone else involved in this war, not the person pointing out how disrespectful this has been of our servicemen and women.

You're like the people who get mad at someone for pointing out racism rather than getting mad at the racism.

This war is disrespectful to the lives of our servicemembers. They can't even define a reason or what success will look like. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters. Dying because Trump needed a distraction, a power and money grab, is being blackmailed, is a foreign agent, or whatever tf reason they have for getting us into this mess.

This martial arts soldier was honored in my kid's TKD studio today. So senseless to lose these Americans in a made up Trump war.

These American Service Members Died in the Iran Conflict
They were from states across the country, and many were dedicated to resupplying troops.

Raised in a military family, Sgt. First Class Noah L. Tietjens joined the Army in the early 2000s and had completed at least four tours in countries including Kuwait and Iraq, said his twin brother, Nicholas.

He had proven himself to be a “great leader,” Nicholas said, and was three months away from wrapping up his deployment in Kuwait. “He just wanted to get there, and get it over with, and get back,” his brother said.

Sergeant Tietjens left behind a wife, Shelly, and a teenage son, Dylan. The three had taken up martial arts together and were constant figures at Martial Arts International in their hometown, Bellevue, Neb. Sergeant Tietjens had become certified as an instructor and dreamed of opening his own studio one day.

Shut up. The people using their image to make political points do not care about them at all, and have a large overlap with the types of people who would've called them jingoistic murders 5 minutes before their demise.

WTF is wrong with you? Their deaths are ENTIRELY political. Get your head out of the sand (or your @$$).

You think we can discuss the service men and women killed in the war without discussing… the war?
