6500 people were in jail for simple marijuana possession. He did the right thing there and he didn’t even know the people.

He also granted clemency to about 2,800 people jailed for non-violent drug offenses. The disparities in sentencing were too extreme to ignore.

He preemptively pardoned his son, and key figures such as scientist Anthony Fauci, Mark Milley, and members of the Jan. 6th Committee to protect them from potential future prosecution. He was right to do that because Trump is trying to arrest people “that did him wrong”. These preemptive pardons saved taxpayers money.

Have some common sense and look at the facts.

I think the people who know what has to be done are trying to give Trump the freedom to turn off his own followers. The problem is simply that his ratings are still too high for the grownups to take control.

Look, if I never see Schumer again it will be too soon. And you can have Fetterman. But, at this point, most of the Democrats have reacted. There are Senators and Congress people working very hard and courageously, people in addition to AOC and Bernie who were criticizing him from the start: Chris Murphy, Jeanne Shaheen , Cory Booker, Jamie Raskin, Pramila Jayapal, Governer Pritzker, etc etc. The Democrats literally cannot stop him because they are outnumbered everywhere and not one Republican has the courage, decency, or hmmm sense of foresight to stand up against him except Massie. The rest of the Republicans will be portrayed in the History books as Nazis.

But there are things they could do. They could make everything more difficult for Congress. Tuberville shut down military promotions for months when Biden was in office

Tillis finally gummed up some things when he decided not go for reelection. But there are tools at their disposal. They just haven’t used them as it requires work and dedication
