Infected ear piercings

And what exactly about going to a doctor that used nonallergenic earrings designed to stay in for months until the piercings were well healed, cleaning them and twirling them is outdated?


Nobody is supposed to be twirling earrings in healing piercings. Saline spray + warm water in shower and don't touch them.

It is essential that any severely infected earlobe is seen by a doctor. My child had a piercing become (randomly) infected and drain into the lymph node in her neck. Within hours, she became septic and had to be rushed to the emergency room. It was a terrifying experience that took months to recover from. I never ever would have thought.

I hope OP took her kid to a doctor or NP. People on here are saying the craziest things.
