spring admit (Verto?!) at top Lib Arts college?!

My DC did first semester abroad Europe 2 years ago. It was a lot of clubbing, partying, traveling, etc. every Thursday-Sunday. I didn’t really realize how wild it was until this year when DC starting telling me the more details. It was a lot for my just turned 18 year old and DC tells me that now that they are more mature. Moving on campus caused anxiety since so many friend groups were well established. DC loves their school, but said they wouldn’t recommend it overall. This is obviously kid dependent. DC had a blast, but did struggle a bit to integrate into the class upon arrival at college in January. This is an outgoing, friendly kid. Mostly hung out with 6 other kids from the abroad experience the first 2 years until junior year when they really started meeting more people. YMMV

Sorry this sounds terrible all around.
Why does verto have the monopoly on this? No France or GB locations?

I am the PP. My DC did not do Verto and was actually in Paris. There are a handful of schools that are in Paris together at the same university. My DC was mostly with USC, Northeastern and Tulane kids.

The worry that I have is that in is not a big program like Middlebury (which admits about 1/4 of the class for Feb Admit) so starting in January with a small cohort (not yet sure how many kids and am trying to figure this out- might be only 20-30??) would be much harder to integrate into the freshman class.

A Middlebury class is around 700, of which 100 are Febs. So, much less than 1/4.

What school? Clearly not WASP. This seems like a terrible idea and would lead me away from it being “top choice” material.
