Minneapolis yoga studio anti-ICE confrontation

How has this event affected the front desk staff? Are they more or less likely to support the protesters?

You know, I don't like this. It is not right, there I said it.

But it is a drop in the bucket compared to the atrocities on the other side. I just read on the Master List of ICE Abuses how an ICE guard raped a Nicaraguan woman for weeks while others protected him. So it is hard to work up anger about this stor.

There will always be people who misbehave in the citizenry. There should be consequences for misbehavior, as apparently there were here.

That is not the same as violence and constitutional violations by the state against its people.

Nuts that people are treating these as some sort of equivalent.

Of course it is nuts but like I said - provoking an overreaction is a classic tactic. In 2021 and thereabouts this kind of behavior was not some kind of aberration - it was tolerated and even praised, and to speak against it could result in cancellation. And of course the excess led directly to Trump. Hopefully the left institutions will keep saner heads about them this time around.

This kind of action only confirms what MAGA already believes and in many cases drives away existing or potential Democratic Party voters. The latter will not necessarily vote for the GOP, and land up not showing up at the polls for Dems. Then the protesters wonder why we get a Trump in the WH. They freakin’ help him!

Better to have peaceful marches. Trump is doing himself in. Why help him with this kind of behavior toward the yoga front desk staff?

+1. The people doing this need to go back and read up on MLK and how exceedingly carefully he planned everything. We cannot f this up with people cosplaying “Nazi Hunters.”

Of course it is better to have peaceful marches. But why do you, why does anyone, hold one side up to an impossibly high standard and the other two an horrifyingly low standard? Anyone who "but both sides" this situation and cannot differentiate between degrees of moral deficiencies is seriously wrong in the head.

It’s a question of strategy and tactics, not “both sides.”

Also, I assume that this group of a-holes violated the privacy rights of the employees and other members.

I hope every one of the women in that group was banned from the studio for good. Shame on them.

This is a rhetorical question, right? If I had a bunch of profanity-spewing people screaming in my face, my sympathies would absolutely not be with them. I can't believe how calm the two women behind the desk were in the face of these awful, awful people. Especially the woman filming and not letting them get a word in.

No one is "treating these as some sort of equivalent." But we're absolutely going to call out this bad behavior whether you like it or not. It's reprehensible that a group ganged up on two women who were representing a PRIVATE business. Sorry, but loudmouth bullies don't have the right to demand people bend to their will. Especially private businesses.

I thought Yoga was about inner peace. Maybe they should join a boxing gym instead.

Aww.. MAGA trying to George Floyd the anti ICE movement.

Still won't work. You'll see. Has Trump talked about this on one of his rants? If not, he know this is not a winning strategy. Not this time.
