Gen Z: First generation that’s officially dumber than the previous one

Flynn effect has been considered dubious for a while. It does not seem clear that there is actual IQ decrease in Gen Z.

Their character seems sus for sure.

In working the technology and mass media communications, I asked students to pull out their phones briefly and check their screen usage time:

On average, anywhere from 6-9 hours daily.

Two kids were somehow laughing off the fact that they logged 73 and 78 hours total last week.

No, it’s not satire. It’s tragic.

Independent research is reaching a consensus that Generation Z is indeed less intelligent. A recent report surfaced a few months ago that elite universities are altering their curricula for Gen Z students, and they are making it easier. Yes, you read that right. We know it was always a fond hope that we carried through instinctively. But it is a practical world where it is happening. While we often add that label to every new generation of being less resilient, having less patience, and being less shiny than their predecessors. The concern this time is more than labels. It is scientific research.

I’d assume most people working in communications spend a solid amount of time on social media for work?

Sure. Keywords people working.

Teenagers? Rotting their brains away to big tech. Hopefully you’re a good parent and fight that.

There are no widespread IQ tests in the US so I don’t know how anyone would know.

2. Most anti-Zoomer sentient is just coded racism.

It's this.

What a terrific job the U.S. Department of Education has done (LOL).

Also: have to add the /s , in case any Gen Z folks did not pick up on the obvious sarcasm.

Kids know that if they want to be lazy or just watch phone movies and video games it is the teachers that are going to be fired. You you imagine a child addicted to amphetamines, tech, and other drugs at a young age then given the power to try to get teachers fired. It's a recipe for educational success. The most ridiculous is when admin and PTA take kids side instead of a teachers when we are reporting crime and violence and are retaliated against.

Facts don't matter to people like OP.

They love their narrative!

Again, dismissing the source because you don’t like the conclusion. What a lazy response. Are you Gen Z?

I’m STILL waiting on those peer-reviewed studies…

Stop posting RW clickbait garbage.

Do the Admin and the Union still think it's cool to retaliate and fire teachers who are new and who report crime when they join weird toxic educational cultures. Is it still cool to fire the great teachers who care about safety?

Education is one of the reasons we left the US. We didn’t have the ability to pay the tuition at top US private schools.
