What do you use to wash your face? Not the cleanser

Baby washcloths. Fresh one each time. Wash in the sanitary cycle of my machine.

Any eye doc will tell you not to do this. Even washed, your hands are filthy

My husband is an eye doc, and he said this is absurd. Of course you can wash your face with your hands in the shower.

I generally use a washcloth, because I like the gentle exfoliation I get from it. I don't wear makeup most days but I often wear sunscreen, plus I do a moisturizer both morning and night and sometimes there is a bit of residue. Just using my hands will leave it behind.

That's why you change your washcloth every couple of days. Hands don't do anything.

I use a washcloth once before washing. I reuse my towel but not the washcloth.

Something like this: https://www.ulta.com/p/silicone-exfoliating-scrubber-pimprod2052712?sku=2641969 (not this exact one but similar.) Just lathering up with my hands wasn’t enough to wash off my makeup. I double clean with a cleaning oil first, then use a face soap with the scrubber and it works very well.

I wash with cetaphil and my hands. Then I pat dry with a paper towel. No, I don’t care about the environment that much

This is very bad for your face. It can cause microscopic tears. Way too rough. These are naked to the eye while allowing bacteria into the skin.

I occasionally use something similar. At least the one I use is not the tiniest bit rough. Where did you read that these were damaging?

Muslin washcloth, fresh one every day. I just switched this year (I used to just use my hands) and it really helps clean off my eyelashes and eyebrows during allergy season.

Anonymous wrote:I use my hands probably 80% time, but sometimes I use a face cloth to remove the cleanser. This works as a very minor/gentle exfoliation which is nice sometimes. I do it like a mini towel steam. Cleanse (w/ hands), soak the face cloth in warmer/hot/but not too hot water, look up, lay it over my face and press it in, then gentle strokes to remove the cleanser with it.

I do similar “mini towel steam” at night (in the a.m. I just use my hands while in the shower). I have 15 or so terrycloth cotton washcloths I dedicate to face washing so I use it once and then it goes in the hamper. I do want to replace my washcloths with soft microfiber ones, though, because I think even the “gentle exfoliation” I get from the washcloth is too rough on my skin nowadays.

I'm the pp you replied to, and I use grab-a-rags from costco for this lol. They come in packs of 120, small and soft. I keep some in the kitchen, some in my bathrooms. I'm sure some fancy microfiber ones are great, I'm just too cheap to invest lolol.

I use a new washcloth every day (and only wash my face at night, just shower in the morning). Since using a washcloth (a few years ago) my skin has gotten really smooth and soft.

I use my hands to apply my cleanser and microfoliant, but I use a white wash cloth to rinse that off.
