Because their biggest complaint is about spending cuts, not increases. |
| Basically this doesn’t matter, and deficits haven’t mattered in a decade. We can’t pay it back, so we’ll just print it away. That is if don’t just flat out default first. |
We still have to pay the interest on the debt, find people to buy our debt, and deal with the inflation that we are causing. None of this is free. The fact that the most powerful country in the world has not had a balanced budget in the last quarter-century is absolutely shameful. Both major political parties are responsible for this mess, as are the voters who keep re-electing them. This is not specifically a Trump problem, but he is not exactly helping the situation, either. |
| The Oval isn’t going to just gold leaf itself you know! |
Yes, true, that's what I have now understood about a lot of them. The issue is a bunch of idiots who aren't totally like that also helped elect this felon to make it a backbenchers and losers rule on the majority. I am also angry at Joe and Jill for letting it happen, waiting till last minute then anointing Harris knowing she can't win. The dems are fools for trying to put two women candidates for Potus in a country that has never elected a women and were not likely to when it really mattered the most. Time for experiments would have come, against normal GOP candidates, but not the second time again, not against this person when the stakes were so high. Its also on Joe and his wife Jill who were drunk with power instead of letting it go without screwing up for the whole country. |
It could matter. The EU countries, China and Japan own a not insignificant amount of the US debt. Canada too. These are all countries Trump is behaving atrociously to and if they start dumping US Treasury bills mortgage rates will increase from the currently high 6 pct to an astronomical 16 pct. |
this is what I'm extremely worried about. Is this why Trump caved on Greenland? "framework of a plan"??? What B.S. He also had a "framework of a plan" for health care. Where is it? But if this maniac keeps going with his threats to take over Canada, Mexico and Greenland, aren't these countries going to dump our debt and cause a worldwide economic crash? What then? |
I finally saw a photo of the Oval. It's beyond hideous, grotesquely tacky! Do you think that's real gold leaf or just gold paint? In either case, it's plain ugly. |
| Deficit is a disgrace. All politicians wear it like it or not. Those fools deal with $ amounts they can't even fathom and have, mostly, no experience. Disaster. |
Then you will be poor, but the Trump family will be fine because the Chinese and Saudis gave them hundreds of millions of dollars to buy his Trump crypto coins. |
+1. Rich people will break things and poor people will pay the price. As has happened since the dawn of time |

Some form of crisis is almost inevitable’: The $38 trillion national debt will soon be growing faster than the U.S. economy itself, watchdog warns

Republican run House managed to pass all appropriation bills, for the first time in 30 years.
I think they are only four months past the deadline. |
+1. Who could possibly predict that the US debt would ultimately become unsustainable |
Republicans only care about the national debt when they're the ones who are not in power. They're fine to add trillions in debt for their priorities. |
