I have had 8 bonded teeth since college. I’m 50 now. Other than a chip here or there or a small discoloration, they’ve been great!

How long does it last? I have a tiny chip in a front tooth but thought bonding doesn't last long.

The problem with veneers is that they significantly reduce the amount of stimulation to the jaw bone. The teeth are shaved down and veneers can pop off if attempt to chew or bite into non-soft foods. Veneers are reduce the contact between your teeth when you are eating which is essential for stimulating the jawbone. The effect of this over time can cause gradual atrophy of your jawbone and create significant dental issues later. At least with crowns or fillings, your jawbone still gets a decent amount of stimulation from chewing to maintain bone density and volume.

Some people are more genetically susceptible than others, but many people will experience a meaningful amount of jaw bone atrophy from veneers.
