I like the novelty pencils, but the novelty ones are cheap quality. There have been years where my kids have not wanted to use them.

Speaking as an elementary school teacher, please do not do those sticky hearts! They inevitably get lost or crushed in the excitement of the party, and then the teacher has to clean it up.

My kids have actual toys so cheap crap doesn't interest them.

My kids have wonderful afternoons playing with Amazon boxes!

+1 mine use them while traveling and for pretend play like taking restaurant orders. I always save these.

Maybe they will serve a cup cake your kid does not like. Maybe they don''t want playdough either. Well thats life. Many kids do and they just need to be polite. No need to cancel the whole event.

We aren't allowed to do food or snacks at all, so it's just a bunch of plastic junk that eventually goes in the trash (and if it's slime or sticky, it goes in the trash immediately). I hate it. I know I'm a Valentine's Day grinch, but so be it.

Someone asked if playdoh, pencils and stickers are junk. Yes, they can be junk.

If you still want to give these things because it makes your kid happy, go for it. I think that's what most of us are doing, picking out junk our own kids like, even if the items will wind up in the trash at other homes.

Someone asked if playdoh, pencils and stickers are junk. Yes, they can be junk.

If you still want to give these things because it makes your kid happy, go for it. I think that's what most of us are doing, picking out junk our own kids like, even if the items will wind up in the trash at other homes.

NP-- Nah I think the orange fruit cup is cute. My kids would have liked it just fine.
