+1. I like combo trips like this too. Despite the distance, this is actually doable by train (only one change) if you stay on the south side of the lake. Or you could do something like Venice-Verona-Lake Garda. |

| Do you like the mountains? venice combines nicely with the mountains (dolomitis which are gorgeous that time of year and the air with be fresh). Lots of great spa hotels with multiple pools and soaking tubs. Also super easy to get to switzerland, lake como, etc. |
