Discipline takes creativity, empathy, and smart thinking. The Kelce family isn’t known for their intelligence. Easier to be physically abusive.

Why doesn’t this get them cancelled? It’s abuse. Obviously not as bad as other methods but this is disgusting and dominating.

Don’t have four children if you have to resort to sadistic s**t—and these people can afford all the help in the world!

Some posters think it’s either “let the kids walk all over you” or scare them and get physical. So many viable options in between

Who cares
Not my children

I’ve had 5 children and never done his. I can’t imagine it being necessary.
That said, my mom did this once to me! She wasn’t abusive. Very loving mother. It didn’t scar me or anything. I say this just because people are so quick to scream “abuse” that I worry it waters down actual cases of dangerous abuse.

Wonder how their sponsors at pottery barn kids feel about this association

My parents didn’t do this to their kids. I never did this to my kids. We’ve still managed to a turn out okay. These people are just lazy parents.

My mom used to wash my mouth out with a bar of soap. She physically restrained me, locked my head in place and shoved the bar into my teeth and mouth. This took many attempts and when I could cry, scream and yell, I cussed her out. I hated her for it.

Why were you so disobedient? Doesn’t sound like you were following she rules. Are parents supposed to just look the other way and let kids do whatever they want?

How so? I am sure asking you nicely didn’t get you to follow the rules. You were probably a righteous terror who wanted no consequences.

Wonder how dial soap feels about Jason being a brand ambassador.

If the dad did something this stupid, you cld blame CTE. The mom is just trashy and on a power trip against her kid. The way she talks about her daughter’s instant remorse, and how she holds her down anyhow? Utter trash.

My kids don’t swear because no one swears around them and because we raised them to know what is and isn’t acceptable. They heard the word NO often in their lives (still do) and no like Kelce we didn’t make empty threats either. It’s just our threats were not sadistic, and that matters.

I now realize I had undiagnosed ADHD but once my mother had my IQ tested, she became even more irritated. I wasn’t even a “bad” kid, just active and messy.

May you be blessed with a kid just like yourself some day so that you can appreciate how ridiculously challenging it is.
