Not my kids experience. Did not visit but virtual sessions were not correctly recorded (confirmed too late w admissions office). Deferred then offered ED2. Ultimately waitlisted and withdrew application. 1560 SAT, 4.O UW 13 AP almost all 5s. Math through MVC. Summer internship, club leadership, etc. This was a few years ago

PP. Similar profile. 1580, top 10% private, Multivariable Calculus. We visited in person, and did several virtual sessions, opened up every email. Demonstrated interest appears to be the difference here.

I’m happy for all who got admitted somewhere they want to go, but what an odd comment. Cleveland is very taste-specific and has terrible winters. I’ve visited often to see DH’s family and I definitely would not refer to it as a “great place.” Campus is probably the nicest part.

The nice thing about having a strong early admit is that the counselor doesn't demand any safety/target on the RD list anymore. You can apply to any schools now, including reaches and high reaches you really love. The counselor's KPI is done!

Weather’s not great but top hospitals, art museum, symphony, food scene. Pro sports, for kids who are interested. A lot of very nice suburbs. It’s not a bad place to attend college.
