Reliable Car for under 10K

Mazda 3 or Mazda Cx-30, but be ready for more accidents. It's not the cars, it's your son. No 'cool' car can make him cooler.

I don't think he needs a new "cool" car if he's getting in two accidents in light snow.
Anonymous
You shouldn't reward him for being a poor driver with a new car. He needs to learn to make better decisions.
Anonymous
I don't think the problem is the car but learning how to drive better in snow and ice. Or, ideally, don't drive if it's icy.
Anonymous
I went to school in North Carolina and students crashed cars in the ice, because they are idiots. The lesson your son needs to learn is to not drive when the conditions aren’t safe for his car. Two accidents means you walk for a long while.

No such thing as a reliable car under 10k, 30k is the new 10k

google best used vehicles for inexperienced drivers. Carvana has quite a few, but you have to raise your price to $12k. GL

Best bet is to buy a $15k car from carmax and pay for the carmax maxcare warranty that they sell, still under $20k.

Unfortunately, this is true. Used car prices have skyrocketed along with new car prices. You won’t find anything reliable for under $10,000.
