You mean after Trump 1 and Covid. You don’t say? You know what helps inflation is tariffs and in turn other countries refusing to buy American products. Idiot. |
Spare us the Russian propaganda. Before the sanctions, only around 3-4% of US domestic oil consumption came from Russia. Removing that 3-4% from our supply did not cause "a lot of inflation." That story may be more relevant for the EU and other places more heavily dependent on Russian oil (and that would be due to their own sanctions), but not for the US. |
| Didn’t you hear the orange man screaming in his Oval Office address? Biden bad; Trump good, the best even! |
"Groceries is an old fashioned term" The man is out of touch with reality. He grew up in wealth and privilege, probably never had to buy his own groceries in his entire life and doesn't even know how much anything costs or how much it's gone up. |
Trump angrily shouting about how everything is great and wonderful in that address was one of the most bizarre things I've seen recently. |
If you actually about understanding the big picture (cause and effect, inflation factors, unemployment and how country's handle once in a lifetime pandemics), compare the US 2019-2024 to other countries during those years. |
Its a good thing oil is a highly regional commodity rather than a global one then. You do realize we ended up selling a ton of LNG to Europe to replace that oil right? Natural gas prices doubled as a result. Now if we end the sanctions, and fix Nordstream, you'll see prices crater. And inflation with it. Do it Mr. President... |
