Salmon Wellington with a crab layer is delicious!

I made it loosely based on this recipe but individual ones and didn't make the sauce.

When you made this how did you keep pastry from getting soggy as salmon cooked? Or does pastry soak up the salmon juice?

I don't remember it being a problem. I made individual ones, so there was more pastry.

Making this weekend for family. Thank you for posting recipe link!

Ina's seafood lasagna. Make it ahead with a salad. Reheat the lasagna along with some garlic bread, and it's ready in 30 minutes. Add Christmas crackers at each seat to make it festive.

Not really make ahead, but make while at church:

Foolproof rib roast - cook for 1 hour and turn off oven, but leave in oven for 3 hrs.

We’ve also make a lasagna and put into oven on a delayed start to cook while at church.

We do cheeses fondue. Before church, we have all the cheese grated and bread cut. Once we get home, it’s only about ten minutes to heat the cheese and get the party started.

My crew is very resistant to the appetizer approach, so I am going trying to figure out a meal I can get completely served in less than 30 mins after getting home that feels like a celebration. Thank you!!!

Have a large lunch and do leftovers and desserts after church. I would never cook a large Christmas dinner that late. Have a lasagna ready to bake with a salad.
