Amherst college grade inflated to hell

A vast majority of grades are As. They can't tell who is top 5 or top 50 or even top 100. We need to be honest that Amherst is a joke.

DC said there have been a number of meetings and announcements about this, and changes are expected. But curving an 88 to an A in large intro STEM classes seems reasonable to me?

Larger STEM classes typically have curves, for a reason.

But that can be difficult when everyone has the same grades. It should be rare for students to have 4.0s.
