Thanksgiving Menu! Any critiques?

Each of these items sounds delicious! I think that in combination they are a little too rich and complicated. Lots of sugar and too many cream/cheese based sauces.

I’d recommend losing the hollandaise sauce (or at the very least serving it on the side) and switching either the carrots or sweet potatoes to a more savory dish.

I completely get needing to serve corn and Mac & cheese for kids! We do the same thing.

Thought the same thing. I’d probably not do a maple glaze either since you have the sweet potatoes. Roast the carrots with some herbs or even sumac.

I keep seeing Mac and Cheese on Thanksgiving menus. Is that a new thing? Mac and Cheese - which many love - seems more diner like than something for a special meal.

It's a Southern thing

I would omit the sausage from the stuffing, since a lot of these dishes already sound very heavy and rich.

Sounds great overall!

Keep the goat cheese.

Ignore PP's you do not need two proteins. Turkey is sufficent.

-Sausage + Mushroom Stuffing
- Gravy
- Rolls + Butter
-Buttered Corn
-Roasted maple carrots with hazelnuts and goat cheese
-Roasted asparagus w/ hollandaise sauce
-Baked brown sugar sweet potatoes
-cranberry pomegranate sauce
-Ina’s potato fennel gratin
-Mixed greens with mustard vinaigrette
- Baked Mac + Cheese
- Nutella Cream Pie
- Apple Pie

I would drop the asparagus. That is a spring vegetable. Substitute brussels sprouts or even broccoli.
Is the corn fresh? Served on the cob? That will be messy.

How well do you know your guests?

My SIL once started crying when we went to a cousin's thanksgiving and there were no mashed potatoes. (though I agree they can be a pain to make - but not harding than thin slicing a ton of potatoes for a gratin!).

And a black thing. I have a black friend who brought her decadent baked Mac n cheese to her white in-laws and no one touched it. If you get it you get it.

Wow, how rude and immature.

Nope. You do you. It doesn't matter to us what you make.

It looks great, OP! Don’t really get these folks saying it’s too heavy or too many dishes. First, it’s THANKSGIVING. Second, you don’t have to eat anything you don’t want.
