Humanities majors

I agree with others on knowing some statistics. Even getting a business minor can be helpful. International Studies and International Business majors will have a few classes together: language, politics, area studies, economics, etc. There is a lot of overlap. Classes in organizational communications, grant writng etc. are good to broaden skills.

Both majors generally study abroad. An internship (and a business related course) while studying abroad can be helpful. And this is not just to work in a business, but organizations in general, NGOs or the government. I would make sure there is an internship as part of that degree to get experience and help know what she wants to do.

But the skills and knowledge gained in an International Studies degree should be valuable to people. Thinking, analyzing, writing, etc. and knowing a lot about how the world works and engaging with other cultures. What's not to like?
