| Aside from him using the term street walkers, I don’t see anything wrong with him. I was similar as a teen in terms of having different interests than my peers (talked about politics and current events vs pop culture and fashion) and dressing very conservatively. I was extremely judgmental of my peers’ interests and way of dress in private but would never publicly criticize their interests or use the terms slut or street walker. That needs to be shut down ASAp! I’m probably on the spectrum too. It runs in my family. |
This is a really good point and — like with PP whose son berates his sisters fashion choices — I’d be worried he is getting this from someone online. It’s fine to read/follow news but I’d want some insight into the source of the content. Things can go sideways quickly with the algorithms feeding you increasingly polarized content. |
| I wish there were DCUM superlatives so I could vote for this one as "most creative humblebrag" |
Actually step #1 if for OP to deal with her own heteronormative approach to “connecting” with her son. Maybe he’s gay, OP. Stop with the GIRL pushing. |
|
My autistic son has always had similar Little Professor tendencies, BUT is a kind and gentle soul who would never think of or express sexualized judgement on the opposite sex. That's horrific, OP. Your kid has issues that have nothing to do with autism or ADHD or anxiety. What has he been watching online? He's going down the rabbit hole of possibly violent misogyny. It's great he's talking about intellectual topics, but you need to punish him for hateful speech.
|
Healthy homosexuals don't excoriate the opposite sex. I agree that it sounds as if OP has been pushing her son into certain behaviors she deems acceptable for his age, and that maybe he's rejecting that forcefully because he's so irritated at her anti-intellectualism and creepy sexualized behavior. He might or might not be gay, but the OP is definitely the worst sort of parent. |
Sounds like your son is pretty lame TBH. |
Why does it need to be shut down? According to DCUM being a streetwalker or skank isn’t negative, it’s to be lauded. |
|
DCUM never fails me. Pasta salad is trashy, but women wearing next to nothing are empowered.
Justice for pasta salad! Justice for pasta salad! |
I saw what the girls were wearing to Homecoming the other night. Honestly alot of them did dress like hookers. Is what it is. |
There's no way a mom would report this behavior without acknowledging they're doing a bit from Bluey. |
There's a lot wrong with the misogyny just as there's a lot wrong with your son's misogyny and the fact that he's lecturing you. You and op both need to get your son's together. |
Nailed it! |
| OP: Place a chair on the front lawn. See if your son takes the bait. |
| The shaming girls for their outfit choices is unacceptable, but the rest of this is not. I'm sure there's a girl out there who acts like a 50 year old as well and they'll be the perfect couple, if only he cuts out the "streetwalker" talk. |
