That you were bamboozled that his thoughts were Wrong Think?

The man died. He clearly made a positive impact on the world but you are centering YOURSELF. You have a little pity party and spitefully choose to withhold

. And then post about it online. Wow

This line of thinking is why children never turned their fathers in when they’re being molested

This is a Wendys maam.

Well, found his social media and turns out he promoted politics and legislation that I really dislike or would oppose. Sorry I snooped. Serves me right I guess.
No obit yet but will send condolences.

God forbid that someone else has different political ideas than yours! (How intolerant!)

We’re not picking our friends based on opinions about interest rates and farm subsidies - there are very real moral issues here.

OP here. Thanks for your interesting viewpoints.
BTW I am not a Democrat let alone progressive. But rule of law, equal justice under the law, and the Constitution really matter to me.
I said "serves me right," didn't I.

There's plenty of data out there showing the progressive left is much more intolerant than anyone else on the right, much more likely to cut off people they don't agree with. And also much more likely to report mental health problems. It does make you think.

I am sorry real life doesn't match up to the narrative you have created in your mind. Good, nice, kind people come with all opinions and behavior. As do nasty people. It is your choice to turn this into a form of disappointment.

It's sad to think of all the unreported and untreated mental problems from the right. Is that why they tend to be the ones that snap?

The right doesn't just cut off people it doesn't agree with, it prosecutes them so they have to spend money defending baseless charges.

Actually it's not true that good nice kind people come with ALL opinions and behavior. Cruel and bullying actions are not done by good nice kind people. Good kind nice people don't threaten those who disagree with violence.

Here's one for you: https://magazine.columbia.edu/article/why-depression-rates-are-higher-among-liberals

You can also do a bit of googling on your own. No shortage of discussions and articles about it.

Uh, no. You said “politics “. You just don’t like their politics so are trashing the person as a whole because they don’t hold your views. That is intolerant and wrong. Now you are here wanting us to affirm you. And what’s worse, you are dancing on the grave of a dead person!

Well, for one, the person is dead, so I don't think your post would do much good.

Good for you that you will still send your condolences in spite of your political differences. 👍🏽

Sounds pretty MAGA to me.

I'm vehemently anti-MAGA but I have some acquaintances with whom I disagree politically. I keep that piece out of our relationship. Honestly, I assume they're ignorant but I'm not interested in turning our relationship into something political so I am not going to attempt to educate them. These are people I don't have a choice about associating with so I co-exist with them in a way that allows for pleasant exchanges about the things we have in common. I'm shocked by the people who think they can or should truly cut every person with whom they disagree out of their lives. And yes, I am sick about what this administration is doing on so many fronts. I cried this morning watching a video of Hegseth, and as a former fed with many friends still at the government I am constantly worried about them and am heartbroken watching my former agency be decimated. But I can still find a way to deal with people with whom I disagree.

NP. If you believe that a certain group of people are less entitled to something because of the color of their skin, that goes beyond politics and is absolutely a moral issue.
