| These houses are hideous imho |
Then I hope he goes out of business or hires a designer. Destroying cute houses for these hideous boxes should be a crime. If I lived next door, I’d be livid. |
| I toured the first one on 34th when it was open. It was awful and every person walking through was saying the same. It is absolutely enormous and completely out of place and scale for the area. The main floor had not a single wall so no way to close off anything. It is 100% open with a staircase plonked in the middle. The ADU already had a giant crack down the middle of the ceiling and so on. |
| I don't mind the first two but they are out of my budget. |
| On the market but will pass on this type of "development" and buy a smaller one and one vacation home with no stairs. Kids are soon in college anyway. |
|
Oh wow that 3rd one. Who’s going to buy that?
I hate them all but the 3rd one is just so weird. |
+1 |
| There’s a number of these hideous style of houses in 20015 and they all seem to sit forever. Seems pretty stupid to build this style as they look ridiculously out of place. |
They don't look so bad to me, but the flat roof looks like it belongs in the desert where it doesn't rain or snow and they don't have any trees like all of those pueblo styles in Santa Fe, NM. You should hear them whine when it rains, but it only does that once or twice a year. Otherwise not having a pitched ceiling in the attic and optionally a deck on top would be awesome. |
| They look pretty awful. And anyone who lives in this area knows a flat roof is not something you want. |
Khruschoba, you mean? |
probably? transliteration differences? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khrushchevka |
It's really strange...like a super wealthy parent indulges their kid's strange design tastes, but doesn't care about making a profit. If these were just built in a modern craftsman or a modern colonial style then they likely wouldn't have a major problem reselling. There is one that has been for sale in 20015 for like 2.5 years at this point. It actually looks better than these houses, but is similarly out of place for this neighborhood. |
+1 These houses are dogsh** ugly. |
| Builders don't prosper by building structures they cannot sell, despite the judgments of self-appointed arbiters of taste and sophistication here. You may not find those houses to be to your refined tastes, but they will sell. |
