When I drop my kids off at school every morning I tell them "be kind! be curious!" so hopefully that sinks in.

I had totally forgotten this but when mine were in elementary school I used to tell them every morning “listen to your teachers and be kind to your classmate! I love you!” I don’t know if any of that sunk in, or if they even remember that (they are in HS now and it always amazes me the stuff that I put so much effort into when they were young that they apparently have no memory of now!).
