An SES is not anything like an executive.


I truly think this is part of the problem a lot of the RIFed feds are facing. It’s hard to draw parallels to their work in the government to corporate. SES manage multi-million (sometimes hundreds of millions) programs and making policy decisions that affect the country at large. But they’ve never actually managed a business….

OP will have to take what the market says she is qualified for.

Everyone wants exec comp and perks and prestige.


I live in a UMC neighborhood and there is no way I am looking for my next VP role via my neighbors in completely different industries.
