I’ll keep buying IAUM, which is backed by physical bullion, and we’ll see where each of us is in two years. Hope you won’t need to sell any Tesla over the next few years. |
DP. I have physical gold that I bought a decade ago for all the reasons people buy physical gold, but that collectibles capital gains rate makes it significantly less attractive to unload once the currency devaluation has occurred. |
I’m riding it too. It’s nuts out there. Lotta money to be made before the crash. Terrible jobs report and believe it or not stocks rise. At the same time gold is skyrocketing in anticipation of more inflation. Wallstreet knows a rate cut is coming. That not a sign of a healthy economy. The sad part is half the country doesn’t understand a fking thing about finances. They’ll be the ones bailing it all out when we have to do TARP again or whatever in two years. My guess is democrats will inherit a crash in a few years that could be worse than 2008. |
If you buy gold miners ETFs like GBUG you don’t pay the collectibles 28% rate. However, there’s more risk involved. |
CNBC but whatever. Childish tantrum gotta end PP. |
It will but before that. The pre tariff stock is running out. Inflation is set to take off. |
I know that now, but what do I do with what I already have? It almost feels like a dead investment since diversifying out if it anytime soon doesn't make much sense. |
| People really think “slowing down inflation” (prices still rising but more slowly) means literally deflation (prices dropping) so they get confused and angry about the terms being used correctly and think they’re being lied to when prices aren’t dropping. |
"I was going to vote according to my beliefs, but then a random internet commenter wasn't impressed by my stated plan to ride the economy into the dirt so I had to change sides!" These are truly the stupidest times. |
Well but it was transitory, ultimately. It would have been even more transitory faster if the Fed had raised rates sooner. But even now inflation is 50% higher than the Fed's mandate holds for it to be. So it's still too high. Hold onto your hat because DT policies will send inflation much, much higher. This is intentional. |
Look the federal government is the nation's largest employer. The jobs report would not be this bad if it hadn't been for DOGE's chainsaw. But add the Fed workforce cuts to what is coming with AI, and it is going to look very bad very quickly. Unfortunately, cutting rates will not bring either of those jobs back. They are gone forever. But what it will do is increase inflation and stock prices. |
Manufacturing jobs are down as well because businesses can't currently plan with the current moron in office. |
Job losses are deflationary tho |
Christmas should be the wake up call. Orders had to be in this week to get ships on the water in time to stock. Too much uncertainty and too many tariffs led to very low to no orders. And the de minimus rule change has led to much confusion and delays. |

Today we learned that in June the US economy lost jobs for the first time since 2020. We haven’t seen this kind of net job loss since - well, since the last time Trump was in charge.
Economists predicting 6 million job losss by the end of 2026. GA is going to lose a Hyundai plant because Trump the idiots sent ICE there and they arrested South Koreans who were visiting the plant the morons. 400 workers arrested plant is closed and Hyundai will not create more jobs in GA they will walk back the manufacturing and the economy in that town will dies in 5,4,3,2, 1 |
