Where and when to go apple picking?

This is very wrong. DC just went on a field trip for PK4 and all the kids could reach the lower branches and pick the apples. Assuming your child doesn’t have special needs, they should be more than capable of apple picking at 4.

It depends on the orchard and the time of year you go. I took my DD last year in mid-September when she was 4 and even I (5'1" adult) could 't reach most of the apples, because the lower ones had all been picked.

Some orchards have those grabber tools to help pick from higher branches, but they're difficult for little kids to use and not the same as picking with your hands.
