The police don’t respond to noise violations. There’s actual crime to be addressed, you know.

Umm yes they do. ( police dispatcher)
Today my officers have responded to a dead fox that was still moving ( yes thats what the caller said), a car parked sticking out of driveway blocking the sidewalk, and a couple of noise/music complainants. Amongst other things.

OP here. Thanks for all the replies. We let it go and didn't report or say anything to the neighbors. They've done this before, but it's usually a once-a-week kind of thing, and almost always only on a weekend night. So hopefully the weeknight disturbance was a one-off. However, if it becomes a habit, we will probably make a call to the non-emergency line to report it. I have a feeling one of the other neighbors reported them this last time.

SO it's a regular thing, but you are going to let it slide yet again and hope someone else does it for you? Cmon!

Where are you op? I am always amazed at how reticent people are to complain about loud music. I can’t stand hearing someone else’s music in my house with my doors and windows closed- it’s such a violation. I’ve learned over the years to call the non emergency line immediately and never assume people have common sense- no, their party won’t end at a reasonable time, no, they won’t turn it down when you politely ask, no, they won’t have their party just a couple of times a year, no, they won’t stick to weekend nights.

Once a neighbor was having a party every week- it turns out he was renting out his house as an Airbnb FOR parties, at a fairly cheap rate.

If you can't beat em, join em. Invite over tons of your own friends and family and crash the parties. Word gets out and nobody will want to rent it anymore after some reviews about you and your buddies always showing up for the parties.

Lol I just called the county and complained- they didn’t have a license for short term rentals and eventually their Airbnb is going to get kicked off the platform. I actually hadn’t noticed or been bothered by most of their Airbnb guests until they got greedy and started renting the house out for parties.

How am I supposed to know when they are going

To have a party? And invite my friends? I don’t have that kind of time on my hands! Lol
