I don't understand. Why do you have to spend a lot of money on lavish vacations to enjoy time with your kids before they grow up? Why can't you have just as great memories at Ocean City?
+1 I'm old, but many of my best childhood memories were not made at the Eiffel Tower and I never felt deprived. In fact, a lot of them were made riding bikes and playing tennis with my mom. Going to the lake. Learning to fish. Pulling carrots out of the garden with my dad. Mostly interactive stuff where my parents taught me skills that they knew. Those kinds of things come back to me as memories. I'm glad I know how to have fun close to home because even though I have a lot of money now, I still enjoy all of those activities.
