Growing more annoyed by slip-ups and bad plots/script in movies/TV

You don't have to waste your time watching whatever is new to the market when so much of it is mediocre. Liberate yourself. It's okay to be picky.

+1 quality matters, but I'd say the older shows are worse. I can't watch anything with a laugh track ever again.
I just stick to Netflix and apple programming and quality foreign items.

Netflix is utter shite these days.

My daughter and I enjoy Wednesday. And I also like Man on the Inside with Ted Danson. But for the most part, there isn't a ton of new material that I am dying to see.

I think there has been a real dumbing down of contemporary shows, e.g., Netflix, because they have concluded that not that many people really care about plot holes or consistency in character development, so they don’t invest in it. Also, the need for ease in translation across languages and cultures as part of the international market compels simple, easy to explain plots without any nuance. So, you end up with gorgeously shot television shows with one-dimensional characters and plot holes you could drive a truck through. Occasionally gems surface, but they are hard to find in the sea of beautiful mediocrity.

Don't be afraid to look at other shows from different countries. I've started doing this on Netflix because everything lately has been trash
