| Your kid will use stuff other kids brought and vice versa. Your kid will lose that fabulous pencil and have to use one from the common stash. Your kid will survive. |
Your kid might use other things, mine will never. They have their own stuff. |
This. I can’t imagine being so insecure that I’d have to ask people this ? |
Of course you reuse supplies. |
Never? What if they lose their notebook? What if they throw up and need to clean up their mess? They use other kids’ things. They just don’t tell you. |
Reuse everything you can. Does your school do the communal thing? You can still reuse binders, book bags paper, etc. Once they hit high school my kids got what they needed every year. Usually pens and paper. |
Kids do t have to clean up their own puke. And my kids have their names in sharpie on each notebook. |
And your kid leaves that lovely sharpied notebook on the bus or the playground and needs another one? Whose paper towels are used to clean up after your kid? |
| I’m tired of being told to buy multiple notebooks every year that come back home at the end of year with 4 pages used each. It is maddening |
Another reason to reuse. My kids had teachers who encouraged this. If it was used for a different subject they just used a label. |
|
My kids are in MS and they take a binder and a lunch bag to school. No separate notebooks etc. They reuse their school supplies.
But, I do send in costco sized tissue paper boxes, lysol spray cans, containers of clorox wipes, windex, bounty picker uppers - to the teacher to use to keep the classroom clean. They do distribute it to other teachers - and that is quite ok. They may take it back home - and that is ok too. I ask if they need electric pencil sharpener, wall clock, air purifier and humidifiers too. |
| I have been sending germex hand sanitizer (multiple big bottles) and disposable face masks to the teachers too. The face masks after COVID, but germex hand sanitizers since they became available. |
Teachers always made kids clean up their own vomit when was in school. It's an infectious disease thing. No sense them spreading it to others. "Go to the bathroom and finish puking, then clean it up and report to the nurse when you are finished." |
