To answer OP. DWI’s do show up on a criminal
History and on drivers license return when ran by LE so yes they county as crimes for the situation you are describing.

So much misinformation on here ref field sobriety tests and breath tests. Just don’t drive drunk.

If there ever was a court order/action denying asylum and/or impacting their status, then overstaying is the underlying reason why ice can detain and deport.

ICYMI: this was the case under Obama as well, and his administration deported. This was the case under Biden as well, but he opted not to enforce.

Re: the DWIs - yes, those are additional crimes. If your friend’s husband is detained, he needs an experienced lawyer…noting there are sooooooo many Spanish-speaking lawyers who basically take your money and do a subpar job in the immigration space. Be careful! Find someone who has a successful track record by personal referral.

Read visa and visa waiver questions carefully before planning foreign travel. Some countries have very strict limits on even traffic adjudications. Australia, NZ, Japan for example.

I looked into the claims ICE is supposedly “rounding up illegal aliens who have no criminal record.”

Turns out: almost all of the illegal aliens actually do have criminal records, with DWI convictions being the most common.

But, certain left-leaning groups are still circulating misleading claims, by not counting DWIs as “criminal offenses.” And the media keeps perpetuating these falsehoods.

Always heard they didn't let Dubya Bush into Canada because you are supposedly not allowed to even visit Canada for a day if you have so much as a DUI.
Apparently breaking and entering is fine though.
