Feedback on "The Hunting Wives" from my fellow Texans?

I loved every trashy minute of it. And that Ms. Snow.. Remember when she was a good girl? She's naughty now. So naughty.

I'm not Texan, but am so happy to watch Brittany Snow in something after her husband cheated on her on that reality real estate show in LA. I've loved her since American Dreams.

I don't know any New Englander who would wear Berks with socks and a sundress to go to someone's house on a Friday night. That's not how my people dress.

I loved American Dreams! I’m only two episodes in on Hunting Wives and it’s pure trash, but I’ll admit I’m going to keep watching.

She has such a bland personality.

Ok, what kind of ending was that? It leaves so many loose ends. Yuck.

The only times I've seen anyone wear cowboy hats at a party were Texas-themed parties and once at a small town dance hall. I know women who own guns, but I don't know any who actually hunt. That's something for their husbands to bond over. I have a massive family and only four of my male relatives hunt.

What did they get right? Texans are friendly and gracious to strangers and newcomers, including those of non-white races. (In fact, they go over the top to prove they're not racist while supporting racist policies.) Women make more of an effort with clothes, hair, and make-up and it's not this stereotypically tasteless way of dressing. The ugly residential architectural styles, although that's improving. The green landscapes of East Texas dotted with oil pumps. The way that men control the women in their families. Dermot Mulroney is on pitch. He reminds me of a few of my males relatives, unfortunately.

That dig about "she thinks we're deplorables"? Oh yes. My Texas relatives subject me to all kinds of little digs and barbs like that to let me know that they're still holding on to that one, and anything else that sounds like East Coast elitism.

+1

Women should not hunt.

It leaves so much space for a season 2 - it can pick up right where it leaves off. That wife of the police chief is a total beeyotch! You can just tell she was a huge bully in school.

The actress or the character?

I’ll keep going. It is trashy but entertaining. The best part is all the parodies on reels. My favorite:

“I do not drive cars! I do not drink alcohol! I do not do drugs! I do not make out with women! I do not make out with teenage boys! But if you ask me to do any of those things one time I’ll do them.”

LOL

Woah usually I can watch Netflix show out in the open, but with teens coming in and out, didn’t realize it was so much nudity and lesbian action, lol.

I binged "the L Word" while getting h-vac replaced back in the day. For some dump reason, I didn't foresee all the lesbian action. Watched anyway.

I am the previous Houston poster. I never saw a whole episode of the show but just watched the trailer. I think it portrays the trappings of an upper middle class material lifestyle with the activities of people who live in rural areas. They all have fancy homes with pools and nice furniture sort of like the upper middle class women in Houston or Dallas. The difference is, with a few exceptions, those rich ladies in Houston and Dallas don't shoot guns as a hobby. They are more likely to have a country club membership and spend their time playing golf and tennis.

That being said, the show looks entertaining. Malin Ackerman is always good and Dermott Mulroney is sexy. I have seen him acting stiff as a board on "Chicago Fire," and he is frankly terrible in that role. After seeing the trailer I realize the bad performance on "Chicago Fire" must be do to poor direction and writing of his character.
