Labels don't do any good if neither you nor your child bother to look for the item. I'm not checking inside coats to see who the coat belongs to. I'm just chucking it into lost and found. |
Many of those coats cost $20-30, and many of them are purchased used. You can get a brand name coat online used for $30. And not everyone can afford time to search for a coat during the work day. They care about the coat, but they care more about not getting fired. That's great for you that you've never had this kind of a job. Not all kids will listen just because they're "in trouble." About 10% of the kids in school---enough to make a sizable dent in that lost and found---have ADHD. Being in trouble with one's parents doesn't fix inattentiveness. Behavioral therapy and medication can help, but many of those kids are still going to lose things. |
Nice diatribe. So are you buying labels for this $30 coat you don't care about, or are you just completely off topic? |
We use a brother label maker that I buy refill tape and ink for off Amazon. I was shocked Ed they stick on fabric and stuff as well as they do. I can even put it on water bottles I run through the dishwasher. It’s so easy to just print new ones if needed. |
Aren't label makers still a thing?? |
I love those name bubble labels. They’re so great. |
Good one. 🙂+1 |
We use these. Write whatever name you want in sharpie and then peel off the backing on the front clear part and it laminates the name. They have plain ones too if you don’t want any animals , cars, or another motif.

I’ve always used a laundry marker to write names inside clothing and on lunch bags and water bottles |
They make iron on tape too for clothes! This is what we do and I've been really happy with being able to use it around the house, too! |
