They are being bought (or have been bought) by a larger bank.


Merger is complete, they just haven't retired the Sandy Spring marketing name yet. Looks like they will fully merge the bank systems by end of 2025. But the new bank, Atlantic Union, still doesn't have that big a footprint- DC, VA, MD and NC.

My college-age kid just opened an account with Truist -- they seem to have branches all around us. Seem pretty good for his needs so far.
