My point was, it will find you and never go away. Might someday impact your driver's license. Or fees will compound. Or next time you get pulled over you'll get a ticket instead of a warning.

Nope. The ticket is issued to whoever the car is registered to. It is not tied to a driver since they can't determine who was driving. If it's not your car sure just don't pay it. I'm sure whoever owns it won't mind.
