Those are fair points to bring up. Still unnecessarily expensive. These programs are run by massive, rich soccer clubs (or in some cases, by smaller, but still minor-league-baseball-level rich, lower-division clubs). It's a very easy investment for them, because it takes care of player recruiting and training and also builds on existing fan loyalties. The same thing in most other countries where soccer is the main professional sport -- academies run by professional clubs instead of small local travel clubs here.

We're never going to be Europe with their Academy structure, soccer just isn't as important to casual fans. Teams in the Club World Cup are already complaining about the attendance in some of the stadiums, if we truly were a soccer nation the stadiums would be packed but they're not, we need to quit comparing ourselves to other countries. Arsenal vs LAFC had 22k in a stadium that holds 71k, meanwhile the Chicago Bears average 58k (NFL worst) in a 66k capacity stadium[/quote]

Fair, but the club world cup is a horrible example to use. It's a **** tournament and the host nations that have no soccer history/culture always have crappy crowds.

An overpriced game at 3pm on a Monday in the first round in a stadium hours away is a hard sell.

If I was a lifelong fan I could see going no matter whay, if it was in my town that would help, and if it was affordable for my large family that would really help.

Is 4thousand $ an overpriced tag to play in mls next 2 that’s really a glorified ncsl? Weighing my child’s options

MLS Next2 are MLS Next second teams like ECNL used to be before ECNL forced the clubs to drop ECNL as 2nd team

So that means according to you, ECNL is also glorified ncsl

MLS Next B teams are the same as ECNL-RL. Talent is similar, pricing should be similar.
