What about boycotts of apartheid South Africa? |
All BS. You see white supremacy under the bed. And you play on it to extract monetary concessions from others. You can't measure racism, and according to you, it will never end. The grift is all about the $$$ to you. You are the ignorant one. |
Of course boycotts can work. They just need a sustained effort and media attention. That’s also why a lot of them fail. For them to be sustained you probably need an alternative, and that alternative becomes the new default. It’s easy to boycott Target. It’s harder to boycott Amazon. So, I just order far less from Amazon than I used to and instead use Costco and other stores. I also sold my Amazon stock and bought Costco.
It’s really easy to boycott Tesla because not only are there alternatives, they are almost all better than Tesla. It was easy for the MAGAs to boycott Bud Light over their sexual attraction to that trans person because there are a lot of beer alternatives. |
I had no idea all of these boycotts were going on. That doesn’t bode well for them. As for Starbucks, their coffee is terrible. I hope they go out of business. The rest people mentioned don’t resonate with me so I’ll default to convenience over virtue signaling. |
Our Costco is right next to a Target. It gives me great satisfaction as the Costco parking lot regularly fills up and we have to use the Target lot as overflow parking. |
Maybe now, but it wasn’t always. |
The two most successful boycotts in USA history was the Alabama bus boycott and the South Africa apartheid divestment. Target will be number three. I hope Tesla is sustainable and not just a blip. I wonder why Walmart was not included on the list for boycott. I don’t see much daylight between Walmart and Target |
YES! Every time I shop at Costco, it's packed!! People are voting with their feet. |
Probably someone who got mad at Hallmark Mahogany cards or finding an entire section of hair products marketed toward Black people. How dare they! |
Amazon is a monopoly, and we consumers need to break it. Do it a step at a time: Go to your account, and cancel the automatic renewal of Amazon Prime. You have to click around because they make it hard to cancel. It won't cancel immediately though. They only let you cancel on your renewal date. Then slowly wean yourself from Amazon. I look at the reviews on Amazon, then I google the product and find it in a local store or on the mfr's website. Sometimes I have to pay shipping. Oh well, it's a small price to pay to save our democracy. If everyone who cares about America's future just QUIT Amazon, Jeff B. would lose his power. We gave it to him, and we can take it away. Ditto for Tesla (sell yours if you own one!) and Zuckerberg's businesses like FB, Instagram. Google the oligarchs' businesses -- they include Abe Books and Zappos! I'm doing my best to boycott them all. We, the little people, do have economic power if we will just use it!! |
Maggot. Who cares what you think? This is a thread about how SUCCESSFUL the boycotts are!! |
effing Trumputin trolls have taken over DCUM!! |
STFU with you "reverse racism" BS!! There is no "racism" against White folks like you and your white supremecist ilk. |
You willing to pay for convenience by living in a fascist country? Not me. |
No, you're voting with your dollars for an authoritarian crackdown on human rights and constitutional rights in America. You're voting with your dollars for the oligarchy, who supports the white supremacist Trump government. Eventually, you will pay for your "convenience" with a loss of your constitutional rights. |
