0.03% of test takers get a perfect score on the SAT. What are the odds that they are big, fast, and excellent lacrosse players?
In fairness to the OP, she said for every fast, excellent player out there, there are many with 1,600 SATs. As reading comprehension is still part of the SAT, it's no wonder there are so few perfect scores.

Though I doubt the OP meant there are almost no excellent players. Maybe we'll never know.

“ because for every fast, excellent player out there, there are many with straight A’s and a 1600 on the SAT.”

This implies many lax players get 1600, which is insane. Guess you could infer that they mean excellent lax players on top of it.

I do wonder if two kids on the field are equal or close, they take the one with higher SATs?

If you commit in September of Junior year why would they take the SAT?

You are confusing commitment and admission. Not the same, especially for Ivy/NESCAC. NESCAC won’t even offer without a pre-read of and application. In general, high-academic has minimum standards, and, in some cases individualized targets.

Higher by 10-50? That’s not the decider. 100 or more? Almost certainly. The strong academics have a scoring system, and SATs are a critical component.

Almost all commits are being required or asked by the college coaches to take the SAT/ACT as part of the application package even if not required for a regular non-athlete applicant. Coaches are focused on grades as much as lacrosse athleticism/skill. Your grades will give you more options than lacrosse skill alone especially when coaches have 200 girls they are looking at to fill 6-10 spots. Also, being thin is a bigger detriment to recruiting than being short. Get more protein and put on some muscle if you are short and thin! Protein drinks and hit the weight room to help increase strength so big 5’8” defenders/mids are not plowing you down at the D1 level.
