How long did it take you to lose the baby weight?

Baby weight 3 kids no problem.

It’s the mom stress weight (and aging/metabolism weight) that I can’t lose.

I gained 25 pounds with first pregnancy (age 36) and 30 pounds with second pregnancy (age 38). Lost the weight in 12 weeks with both pregnancies. I was back to exercise at 5-6 weeks and ate on the South Beach diet. Both kids were breastfed for a year and a half. No problems with milk supply when losing weight but likely because all the food I was eating was nutrient dense (nuts, greens, eggs, berries, lean meat, veggies).

My weight came down fairly quickly when I was 24, but my clothes no longer fit even at that weight. About 6 months after weaning in my 30s and I'm at 6 months in my 40s and still 20 lbs heavier. In my 40s I'm having insulin resistance that none of my clinicians are willing to take seriously or treat so that doesn't help.

Babies at 35 and 38; did not try to gain or lose, gained 55 with both (135 to 190 - I’m 5’8). EBF both. Weight off exactly nine months both cases, though I’m less athletically fit on the second one. That will come back. Honestly think it’s just the way my body is wired and I have zero anxiety about the weight gain or loss. Babies both healthy and about 8lbs.

1.5 years. Most of it came off the first 6 months. I was 38 with my only. But my clothes did not fit right even at the same weight. I am a little wider now so everything feels tighter, so I had to shop at different stores or go up a size.

About a year. I gained about 45 pounds. The last 10-15 wouldn’t budge until I stopped breastfeeding, and then I lost a size within a few weeks of weaning. I guess I’m one of those whose body wouldn’t shed those last few pounds until I finished breastfeeding.

My pregnancy weight fell off within 4-6 weeks every time. I got pregnant between 190-200 and would top out at 220 ish. I threw up a LOT during pregnancy and lost weight first tri and would not start gaining until like 16 weeks, then I would break even at like 24.

After my third baby though I was feeling very blah and flabby. And afraid of dying after a lot of pregnancy complications. I did IF and started exercising and lost an additional 40-50 pounds over the course of 1-2 years. I have kept it off for about 5 years. It was hard and took slow and steady work. I did not breastfeed.

About 4 months. Ate like a horse and the weight just feel off while nursing. Like went to 105 lbs at 5’6”. As soon as I stopped 10lbs came back on almost immediately. It’s the main reason why I nursed as long as I did. I loved being skinny.

Eh, few weeks. A baby only weighs 8 pounds.

1st baby - weighed 110, gained about 25 lbs and lost it within 6 months (all but 5 lbs came off right away and the rest came off once I weaned when I went back to work).

2nd baby - similar stats.

3rd baby - gained closer to 30 lbs and really clung on to an extra 10 lbs for a while. Took about 2 years to get back to 110.

I’m 5’2 for reference. Had all babies in my late 20s to mid 30s. I do exercise but not consistently. My mom is small and has good metabolism so I think a lot of it is luck.

BFed for a little over a year with both
Lost weight with both by 6week checkup
Gained 25ish lbs with each and started around 125/130 with each

Baby #1 two weeks. She was a preemie and I didn't sleep and was super stressed.

Baby #2 6 years. I didn't really care that much because I was super healthy before and after. Prepregnancy weight was 118, post pregnancy 126. I stayed 126 until I decided I wanted to lose it. Then I lost it if 4 months. I'm 5'4" and look fine anywhere between 115-128. DH says 115 is a bit thin for me, but I think I look ok there.
