Can you link to your thread in the other forum? You would get more help that way.

Thanks for the offer. It’s one click away in the jobs forum.

I am also discussing family support to pay for the tuition. It seems to be more common than requesting loans.

Just trying to help. You said asking people here for advice and help is a thing.

How much money? I'm super poor, but I have $60k+ cash advance available to me at 4-5% a year from my credit cards. This can go on for a long time, like 20+ years for me.
If you make more or have a partner, I would assume way more credit is available to you.

I might be able to get help from grandparents.

This article from New York magazine explains it well:

There’s recent thread about this. You should read it.

Here is the link: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1269891.page

The link takes you right to the thread.

The thread was locked but I am sure you can get some good advice there anyway.

This isn’t the thread that was deleted this morning with the same NYM article.

Interesting that it was locked. Seems to be relevant for many families.

Maybe if a parent lost their job during junior or senior year, as a stop gap measure to avoid taking the kid out of school those years. But as a financing plan? No, that would be a terrible idea.

Thanks for the advices. Not sure why some posters become bananas when someone asks about the financial aspect of paying for private schools. It is very important to discuss it to avoid bad financial decisions.

That’s why you ask a professional financial advisor and not randoms on the internet.

It’s ok to ask about experience of other parents AND a financial advisor. Most people check with different sources before making a decision. Pretty normal.

Different reliable sources such as parents you know would be better than a general question to the wide open internet. You never know who might have an agenda when posting questions and answers, don’t you agree?

Sure. But that applies to all questions in DCUM, right ?

Esp lots of recent Qs here.

Sure. It’s a popular site and many people ask questions.

Except this OP is asking most of the questions, which is why people are reacting like this
