Boycott El Salvador

LOL, tell that to Musk. He left South Africa three years after the US sanctions went into effect and before he was conscripted to fight in Angola.

Seriously??

Jesus Christ, you people would be buying Hitler brand lampshades in the middle of WWII

What what about the normal German citizens?!??! B

+1 it worked for South Africa to end aparteid and it can work for El Salvador too.

South Africa is now nice and safe

So you were/are pro Apartheid?

At this point most South Africans are pro-apartheid in hindsight. They long for the bad old days when everyone had food to eat.

The name of the mega prison is Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo, abbreviated and commonly known as CECOT, which in English is the Terrorism Confinement Center.

Have you forgotten the US has our own version of a terrorist jail called Guantanamo where plenty of people have been held without trials and tortured? Go look up how many prisoners we still have after 20 years.

Go read up how the archbishop of El Salvador a month before he was assassinated begged President Carter to not send arms and money to the right wing dictator in 1980 and to stop fighting a proxy war in their country. The US was instrumental in causing the civil war in El Salvador that led millions to flee that led to the creation of MS-13 who were then deported and ravaged El Salvador causing it to become the murder capital of the world. It’s now the safest.

You are so right, PP. Those of us of a certain age remember the decades when the US meddled in Central and South American politics—to the detriment of the people in those countries.

Save your country from gangs, get boycotted by liberals. Never change...

They’re always on the wrong side. Always.

Whatever the opposite of whatever a liberal is doing, is the right thing. Rules to live by.

Just stop shopping. Period.

I mean, you can be appalled by all these things: Guatanamo, the deportation of people to CECOT, and the role the U.S. played in Central America in the '80s and how that ultimately led to the outbreak of gang violence there.

I am checking with Starbucks now and with Vermont Coffee Company to see if any of their beans orginate in El Salvador. Apparently, El Salvador exports more to the US than any other country (40 percent of their exports). If you want to support the people of El Salvador, try donating with KIVA.

This may have been true up until the Trump era in politics. Most liberals were never duped into supporting Trump which puts them on the right side of history.

We should not be supporting an authoritarian country that has offered to take US citizens and put them in gulags. Make sure to check items before purchasing and put it back in the shelf if it was made in El Salvador.

Target has recorded 9 straight weeks of declined foot traffic and is expected to report a Q1 loss in a few weeks, but ok, sure.

https://fortune.com/2025/04/07/target-foot-traffic-keeps-falling-boycotts-slashed-dei-efforts/

I know someone just let go from Target because of the declining sales, but not the proper kind of lay off where they can claim unemployment. It's the ghosting kind where you don't get scheduled for 2 weeks and when you ask what's going on they say, "You're still employed but not needed." They've been working there for 4 years and have around 30 other coworkers who had the same thing happen. And this comes after weeks of declining shifts, ~11 hours one week, 14 hours another week, 17 hours another, etc.

The boycott El Salvador must be spreading because a local coffee shop just posted on their Insta that they do not source any beans from El Salvador and linked to a page where their various blends are sourced.

Anonymous wrote:What products are El Salvadoran?

You can google. Apparently knit products are the main.

- Hanes (underwear, T-shirts)
- Fruit of the Loom (apparel)
- Gildan (basic clothing)
- Diana (snacks and candy)
- Capri (mattresses and furniture)
- Indufoam (bedding and mattresses)
- Bon Appetit (snack foods)
- Livsmart (beverages)
- Jumex (juice and drinks)
- Laboratorios Vijosa (pharmaceuticals)
- Salvaplastic (plastic goods)
- Olimpia Beds (furniture)

And make sure to check labels in the grocery store to avoid their produce.

Well this is easy. I don’t buy from those brands. Who’s buying this stuff?

The Gildan and Hanes t-shirts are the usual ones when you get something custom printed like for school events or business give aways or summer camps, etc.

Target is down ten weeks in a row and laying people off. I'd say the boycott is working just fine.

Why do you take such glee in working class people being laid off?

So weird.

Trump takes glee in it. Start there! Or, ask Musk and Johnson and that fourth-rate nobody Vance.

Federal workers are not “working class” retail employees.

Many of you brag about how most feds have advanced degrees and HHI.

Not true. Look at Target's stock since Jan 20.
