Why do you think this way? |

So many people on here caring about the team winning...like it's for you. Got all the merch and love going to the games. This is about the development of your child and what is required at higher levels. If your kid plays striker, then maybe I understand wanting the direct route. But if your kid plays virtually any other position, why would you want the long ball? So, the team can win? So, the club can grow bigger and bigger? What about your kid watching the punt go over their head so they can just get back in the defensive shape after it undoubtedly isn't controlled by your forwards? "Well a couple will go through and we will win!!!!!"
So many people all over those boards with loyalty to a business instead of their kids...its wild. |
I refuse to let my kid try out at Loudoun because they play this way and it's super annoying. It's already starting to not work as well as it did when they were really young. They used to crush teams and now the scores are getting closer/they are losing to teams they used to beat. I don't care about the winning/losing part. I just mention that because to me it's a sign that they aren't developing players. They have just relied on having a large enough pool of big kids with strong kicks. |
| eh winning has nothing to do with club loyalty or fandom. You sound like a novice. Its all about eyeballs and exposure. You need to be on a winning team for that |
Oh, it absolutely does. Your kid should be developing outside of the club with personal work. These teams aren't MLS academies. They are pay to play clubs and don't care about actual development. If your kid is good enough then they will stand out on a winning or losing team. Caring about winning is all about adults enjoying their new social club. Same people shouting their heads off on the sidelines. Pathetic. You are EXACTLY the type of customer that the clubs are hoping to develop...well done. |
As the kids age direct play becomes less and less productive. The defenses are easily able to deal with direct play. The teams have to be able to break down a defense that has stopped forward runs or has packed it in. If you can’t do that you do not score. Watch what happens to your forwards when they are stops in the final third. Let me give you a hint- nothing happens. |
This is so true. The poor look on LS kids' faces when they play a team that triangle passes into open space opportunities for multiple different players is sad to watch. When kid and run stops working that club seems to fall apart at the lower leveled teams especially. Absolutely zero development for 90% of their players is such a scam.but hey they got some tournament medals, right? |
If your goal is to play in college yes they have us by the balls ECNL/GA pay up. Anything less than, yes the winning is irrelevent and silly to chase. |
Wires crossed you're talking about boys, PP was talking about girls. |
I take it you are not familiar with Pep's Tiki taka... |
Apparently you're neither familiar with tika taka nor pep's philosophy |
| Possession wears the soccer ball out. |
thats why we only do virtual practices, keeps the ball in good shape |
