Should I really buy a minivan?

I love my 2021 Sienna hybrid. I didn't want it (it was my 3rd minivan), but we needed the space. We get 36 miles/gal and I have about 76,000 on it right now. With three kids and a dog, we can pack everyone up for the beach and just drive! It fits the bikes, although my tallest kid's bike now needs to have its front wheel popped off to fit in there.

Can't beat the cargo space. And the sliding doors are fabulous when you have little kids. Its handling is a little sloppy compared to our Santa Fe, but the pickup is excellent.

We get 20 mpg mixed driving and significantly more on trips. Hardly a “guzzler.”

Most full size 4x4 trucks get 22-25mpg on highway now. 20mpg is worse than a "bro dozer".

You realize you're comparing highway with city, right?

DP. 20 mpg in mixed driving is not great for a minivan. I wonder if this poster was mistaken.

I’m on my third minivan. My girls were 3 and 0 when I got my first. They are 17 and 14 now. Maybe when college is done I’ll drive something else. But they are just so comfortable and practical (and mine is also luxurious.) I’ve never cared about the image though. If someone sees my car and thinks I am practical and not cool, that is an accurate assessment.

Can’t drive a minivan. Maybe a tad more convenient than a three row suv - just so ugly. Not worth it.
